About the course

Advanced surgical implantology program is designed for the practicing implantologist to enhance, upgrade their surgical skills using cutting edge technology. Not every time clinicians encounter ideal scenarios in routine dental practice. Implantologists do face challenging situations which require additional steps for management. This course helps practitioners gain familiarity with advanced surgical skills in both hard and soft tissue manipulation.

For the very first time we are transforming the training methodology using virtual reality and augmented reality which enhances the learning experience. This course thus aims to introduce some advanced surgical concepts to tackle compromised situations there by increasing the competency of the practitioners to incorporate an array of procedures in their implant practice.

Course Overview:
An advanced structured program orients the clinician to plan a case needing complex oral rehabilitation. The course introduces the clinician to various surgical protocols to augment bone and soft tissues. Overall, it opens a world of opportunities to the clinician to learn advanced techniques to handle challenging situations in their own practice

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn surgical protocols for bone manipulation
  • Independently plan and assess a compromised case needing advanced surgical augmentation proceed
  • 3D assessment of bone deficiency and augmentation techniques
  • Soft tissue assessment and augmentation techniques
  • Use of newer tools and bio-materials such as piezo surgery, PRF, guided bone and soft tissue regeneration

  • Online lectures and video demonstrations
  • Learning materials will be available through
  • Learning management system (Includes PPTs, notes, further reading, videos etc.)
  • Hands on: on dummy models, goat heads and cadaver (on demand)
  • Continued support and mentoring.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Conceptual analyzation using case by case clinical discussion to plan a compromised situation
  • Learning techniques such as bone augmentation, sinus lift, ridge split with step-by-step surgical protocols
  • Soft tissue regeneration using perioplastic procedures
  • To be able to choose the correct techniques and materials for bone and soft tissue regeneration
  • Usage of biomaterials in management of compromised situations
